Turn & River House Rules
- Turn & River is a private social club. All persons utilizing Turn & River facilities must be a member in good standing. Members agree to abide by Turn & River Poker Rules, Regulations, Policies as wall as the Turn & River Poker Code of Conduct.
- Turn & River will conduct all games in a manner that meets the highest standards of fairness to its patrons. It is with this mind, that Turn & River Poker has incorporated certain rules for poker games that are offered to the members.
- Turn & River members shall conduct themselves with the highest level of class at all times. Inappropriate or abusive behavior towards staff or other members is grounds for ejection, suspension and/or expulsion at Turn & River’s sole discretion.
- Turn & River reserves the right to refuse the use of the facilities to any player for any reason whatsoever. Offensive conduct of any kind will not be tolerated. Turn & River reserves the right to remove intoxicate persons for safety, etiquette and enjoyment of the members and staff.
- Turn & River does not rake a pot or charge an entry fee for any cash game or tournament and receives no income from poker games. 100% of all tournament and cash game buy-ins are paid out to the members.
- Each member is responsible for paying club fees regardless of whether they are playing poker, other games or enjoying the bar. Access fees are charged for usage of the club and are not fess collected for playing poker.
- A waiting list will be kept for all poker games. Players may reserve a seat by having their names placed on the list for the game of their choice. Players will be notified when a seat becomes available. An immediate response is expected.
- Seating is controlled by Turn & River Tournament Directors. All players must check in to be seated in a cash game or tournament. Players may not change tables or join games without floor supervisor approval.
- Players may request a table change from a Tournament Director. However, they must enter the new table with a full buy-in, unless they are coming form a broken game of the same or higher limit. If a player request a table change that player must move immediately when the seat becomes available and bring 100% of the player’s chips to the new table.
- Turn & River uses a balanced table strategy and may implement a “must move” at it’s sole discretion. New players will be added to existing games at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
- Players must be seated as the time the second card is dealt to them or their hand will be mucked immediately.
- Players not at the table will receive cards until they receive a missed blind button at which point they will be dealt around until they return.
- Members agree that Turn & River management has the final word on who may play and the manner in which play is conducted.
- All poker games are table stakes and all players entering a poker game must make at least the minimum posted buy-in for that game. Cash of any kind is never in play at Turn & River.
- Tipping of Dealers with gaming chip regardless of whether in play or not, is prohibited.
- Turn & River prohibits all illegal activities while on Turn & River property.
- Management and Tournament Directors reserve the right to make decisions that are in the best interest of the game, even though technical interpretation of the rules would dictate a contrary decision.
- All chips must be cashed in before leaving the poker room. Players may not take their chips with them when leaving; if players leave the poker room and returns during the same operational day, they must verify the amount prior to leaving with dealer and replace the same amount upon their return.
- If a player runs out of chips during the course of a hand that player is eligible to play all-in for the portion of the pot in which he/she/they has an interest in.
- Players may not ass to their table stakes once a hand has begun.
- Cards must be kept on or above the table surface in plain view. Cards may not be removed from the edge of the table surface. Hands may be declared dead after an initial warning for violations.
- It is each player’s responsibility to protect his/her/their own hand and right to action.
- Once a card touches the muck that hand will be declared foul.
- All losing hands will be mucked before the pot is awarded.
- The winning hand will remain face up until after the pot has been awarded.
- A misdeal my be ruled for circumstances not covered here. The following will be ruled misdeals:
- The first or second card of the hand has been exposed by a dealer error.
- Two or more cards have been exposed by the dealer.
- Two or more boxed cards (improperly facing cards) are found.
- Two or more extra cards have been dealt in the starting hands of the game.
- An incorrect number of cards has been dealt to a player, except the top card may be dealt if it goes to the player in proper sequence.
- Any card has been dealt out of the proper sequence (except an exposed card may be replaced by the burn card).
- The button was out of position.
- The first card was dealt to the wrong position.
- Cards have been dealt to an empty seat or a player not entitle to a hand.
- A player has been dealt out who is entitled to a hand. This player must be present at the table or have posted a blind or ante.
- Once a new hand has begun no decision can be rendered in regards to the previous hand.
- No one may play other player’s chips.
- No “rabbit hunting”. Players and dealers are not allowed to look through the discard pile.
- Cards speak. Winning hand must show all cards face up on the table. The player instituting the last action (checking or betting) must turn their hand over first. The house dealer will assist to the best of their ability in the reading of hands although it is each player’s responsibility to protect their own hand at all times.
- A player miscalling a hand with the intent to cause another player to act on their hand risks forfeiture of the pot and/or expulsion from the poker club.
- At the request of the other players at the table, non-players may be asked not to stand or sit at the table.
- Their is no “insurance”, rebates, “pings”, chop pots, etc. Players may not “make a deal” and take chips back.
- The splitting of pots among players is not allowed, all hands must be played to completion.
- Show one, show all. If any player shows his/her/their cards to another players at the table all other players at the table then has the right to see them upon request.
- If a player shows one of his/her/their cards in an uncalled hand, that player is not required to show.
- All raises must be at least equal to the size of the last bet, except in “all-in” situations.
- Players must act in turn. To eliminate the possibility of forfeiture a player must call “time”, failure to stop the play prior to substantial action occurring will result in the forfeiture of the right to act. Substantial action is defined as two players acting on their hands (that is, by folding, calling, raising, checking, or betting).
- Players who place a single chip into the betting perimeter that is larger than the bet to them are considered to be calling the bet unless they announce “raise”.
- String raises are not allowed. A player must either put the full amount of the bet and raise at once or announce “raise”.
- Verbal statements in turn are binding; verbal statements out of turn are binding if the action does not change.
- If a player acts out of turn and their bet or raise influences action, that bet or raise must stay in the pot.
- A card found face up in the deck (boxed card) is treated as a scrap of paper. A card being treated as a scrap of paper is replaced by the next card below it in the deck.
- If an irregular card or cards (cards of the same rank, different back color, etc…) appear during the course of a hand, all hands are dead and all action is void. If an irregular card(s) is discovered in the stub, all action for that hand and previous hands stand.
- In no-limit play, even in an all-in situation, unless there is a full raise (100%), the betting is not re-opened to a player that has already acted.
- In multiple-blind games, players must meet the total amount of their blind obligations every round, or they will receive a missed blind button.
- In any all-in situations a partial blind constitutes a full blind.
- In case of theft or natural disaster, Turn & River is not responsible for any money or chips left on the table or funds deposited with the player’s bank (the cage).
- Only English will be permitted while a hand is in play.
- Turn & River uses the latest version of Robert’s Rules of Poker for all cash games. Tournament Director’s Association (TDA) rules apply to all regular tournaments. See www.PokerTDA.com for current rules. Charity poker tournaments are conducted using Turn & River’s Charity Poker Rules.
- All management decisions are final.
